Battery Fit Check

Accessibility statement

Last updated

We want everyone to be able to use this site, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, larger text or a screen magnifier. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What we do

  • Text is large by default and you can make it larger in your browser or phone settings. Pages reflow, so you do not have to scroll sideways at 200% zoom.
  • Buttons and links are large and spaced apart, so they are easy to tap.
  • Text and controls have strong contrast against their backgrounds, in both the light and dark themes.
  • If your device is set to reduce motion, nothing on the site animates, and the moving picture on the home page is replaced by a still picture. When the moving picture is shown, there is a button to pause it.
  • Everything works with a keyboard alone. The first link on every page skips to the main content.
  • Each step of the fit check is on its own screen with a clear heading, and errors are described in words next to the field.
  • The bot check does not ask you to solve a puzzle.
  • Before each release we run automated accessibility tests, check at 200% zoom and check with a keyboard alone.

Known limitations

  • The booking calendar. It is provided by another company and shown inside our page, so we cannot fix problems inside it. If you cannot use it, open it in its own page. If you asked Nick to call you, you can also press the button that leaves the choice of time to him.
  • The bot check. The check on the contact step and on the request form is provided by another company. It is built to work without puzzles, but it can fail to load in some browsers or with some add-ons. If it does, the page says so and you can try again. A different browser or device, or turning off an add-on, may also help. The request form needs JavaScript to be turned on for the same reason.

Getting help

The "How this works" link in the fit check opens our guides, which explain how the fit check works in plain words.

If something on this site does not work for you, or you want to report a problem, use the request form on our privacy page. Choose "Something else" and say what went wrong and what would help. The form asks for your email address, because without it we cannot reply.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Australian Human Rights Commission at humanrights.gov.au.
